Welcome to TypeWisp ("App," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TypeWisp browser extension and its related services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the TypeWisp extension, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use or install the extension.

2. Use of Service

TypeWisp is a local-first utility designed to record and recover text you input into web browsers. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of TypeWisp complies with any applicable computer policies, workplace rules, and local laws regarding data surveillance or keystroke logging on the devices where you install it.

3. Local Storage and Data Responsibility

All data processed by TypeWisp is stored strictly locally on your device using browser APIs (such as IndexedDB). No data is transmitted to our servers or the cloud. Because of this architectural choice, you acknowledge that:

• We cannot restore your data if you clear your browser cache, uninstall the extension, or lose your device.
• We cannot, and do not, monitor the content you save. You are responsible for any sensitive information recorded by the extension.
• You should exercise caution when using TypeWisp on shared or public computers.

4. Disclaimers of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties or representations of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. Specifically, we do not warrant that:

• The Service will meet your specific requirements.
• The Service will be uninterrupted, totally error-free, or entirely secure.
• Every keystroke on every website will be perfectly captured (certain websites restrict extension behavior or use non-standard input fields).

5. Limitation of Liability

Because TypeWisp stores your encrypted data strictly on your own device, we do not have access to it and cannot protect it against device-level threats. While we use industry-standard encryption to secure your data at rest, you acknowledge that you use the extension at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TypeWisp and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Loss of data due to browser crashes, cache clearing, or accidental deletion.
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your physical device or local files.
• Compromised data due to third-party malware or viruses existing on your computer.

TypeWisp is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid to use the Service.

6. Modifications to the Extension

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part or content thereof) at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The visual interfaces, graphics, design, compilation, information, code, and all other elements of the TypeWisp extension are protected by intellectual property rights. They remain the exclusive property of TypeWisp.
